Throughout my 22 years in the Yukon I have developed strong connections with the Aboriginal communities.

I have also studied societal trauma and its impact on community dynamics. Following this, I have developed and delivered trauma awareness workshops in various communities in the Yukon. This process has increased my understanding of how the history of the conflict between First Nations people and other Canadians has impacted life at every level: individual, family and community. I explored how reconciliation has evolved in other places around the globe and attended a training session in Germany with the late Dr. Dan Bar-On. I also spent precious time with Dr. Eduardo Duran to learn more about trauma as we worked together with a Yukon Native community. As a result, I developed a reconciliation paper.

I have worked with a variety of Aboriginal organizations and communities including Council of Yukon First Nations (CYFN), Chief & Councils, Management Boards, NGOs and citizens at large.

I am excited about opportunities to share my expertise and work at a more systemic level to facilitate the improvement of relationships between Aboriginal Peoples and other Canadians, and, as a result, improving the quality of life in Aboriginal communities.
